!CONTACT_PARAM¶
Specifies contact detection parameters.
Parameters¶
| Parameter name | Attribute | Description |
|---|---|---|
| NAME | C | Contact detection parameter name (required) |
** 2nd line **
Specifies the various clearances for the in-plane method.
| Variable name | Attribute | Description |
|---|---|---|
| CLEARANCE | R | Normal clearance (default: 1e-2) |
| CLR_SAME_ELEM | R | Clearance for elements already in contact (relax this if they move too much) (default: 5e-3) |
| CLR_DIFFLPOS | R | Clearance for treating points within an element as different points (relax this if oscillation occurs) (default: 1e-2) |
| CLR_CAL_NORM | R | Clearance for treating a point as being on an edge when calculating the normal (default: 1e-4) |
** 3rd line **
Specifies the various out-of-plane clearances and related parameters.
| Variable name | Attribute | Description |
|---|---|---|
| DISTCLR_INIT | R | Out-of-plane clearance used for the initial detection (default: 1e-2) |
| DISTCLR_FREE | R | Out-of-plane clearance used to determine non-contact nodes (a node is regarded as being in contact after slight penetration) (default: -1e-6) |
| DISTCLR_NOCHECK | R | Out-of-plane clearance used when skipping the distance-direction check for nodes already in contact (separation is determined by tensile force, so specify a large value to maintain the contact state) (default: 1.0) |
| TENSILE_FORCE | R | Tensile force at which separation is determined (default: -1e-2) |
| BOX_EXP_RATE | R | Expansion ratio of the BOX used for searching (smaller is faster, while larger is safer) (default: 1.05) |
Example¶
For settings identical to the defaults
